Admissions

Pupils may transfer from any other Primary or Junior School, subject to our admission limit of 180 not being exceeded. This includes up to 20 disabled pupils within the School's 900 limit. That is up to four such pupils who will have a Statement of Educational Need specifying this School, in any one year group.

In the event of the School being oversubscribed, the following criteria will be applied for admission to this and all other Secondary High Schools:

1. Medical Reasons (as determined by the Authority and Governors on the advice of the Authority's Medical Adviser) and children whose statement of Special Educational Need stipulates that Wentworth High School is essential.

2. Special Educational Needs.

3. Children in Need, in accordance with the requirements of the Local Education Authority to address the Children's Act 1989.

4. An older brother or sister attending Wentworth High School on the date when the younger pupil is to be admitted.

5. Attendance at an associated Partner Primary School (see above).

6. Distance from Wentworth High School, measured by a straight line. Priority is given to children who live nearest.

The Local Authority are currently conducting a consultation on Salford's admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools for the academic year 2013/14.
