The Booth Centre
At the beginning of October we started
a harvest festival appeal for the Booth Centre. The Booth Centre provides activities, advice and support for homeless people in Manchester. They are based in Manchester Cathedral and homeless people can drop in for a hot drink and some food. A group of fourteen year 9 pupils helped to organise and promote the collection around the school by visiting form groups each
morning.
We collected items for
sandwich fillings,
drinks and
snacks each day for about
two weeks. We managed to collect over
400 items in total, with 200 of these
coming from Year 7. 8T managed to
collect 73 items, making them
the winning
form. A big well done to everyone involved especially:
Charlie Dutton 9W, Victoria
Kirven 9W, Holly Mainwaring 9W, Reshma Manna 9W, Ronni Lang 9E, Sarah McDermott 9E, Sophie Edwards 9N, Rebecca Hall 9T, Alex Hughes 9T, Laren Barrow 9T, Jody Lam 9R, Georgina Tunn 9H, Hannah Grubisic 9G and Amanda Newsham 9G.
