Wentworth High School is delighted to announce that four of our pupils have been chosen to receive the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Award for their outstanding contribution to the school community.
Emma Vallely, Sarah L. Morris, Chloe Johonnet and Kathryn Vickers have been chosen for the Award because of their inspirational qualities that are demonstrated through their commitment and work in the field of pupil peer mentoring over many months and their significant support for other school events.
The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Award was launched nationwide in April 2000 to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution made by many secondary school students to their schools and communities. The Award is given to those students nominated by their schools for:
Youth participation or volunteering; or
Selfless service to others; or
Showing outstanding qualities in overcoming adverse circumstances.
Each secondary school can nominate one student or group of students for an Award. Since the scheme began as a pilot in September 1999, over 10,000 pupils from 200 secondary schools across the UK have received awards. |
