Family Holidays

The School strongly advises that pupils are only allowed to remain at home because of illness. Parents are asked to arrange their annual holiday so as to coincide with the School breaks. The School cannot guarantee satisfactory completion of National Curriculum tests or GCSE coursework missed during such absence. Any such absence is potentially damaging to the pupil's education and disruptive for classmates.

Should part of an annual holiday fall during term time and should a child need to be absent from School for this reason, it is necessary to complete a special holiday form, obtainable from the School Office, at the earliest possible date. In such circumstances, the Headteacher may only grant a pupil up to 10 School days' leave of absence in a School year, provided that the holiday is taken with parents or legal guardians and that the pupil concerned has a minumum of 90% attendance at the time of the request.
