GCSE Results 2009 – Our best ever!
You will already have read about our
fantastic GCSE results for the Summer of 2009 and I want to say a huge “Well Done” to all of our pupils for their amazing efforts!
When I think back to when I was 16, if you took 8 or 9 subjects you were doing well, and I remember how much hard work that took! So I cannot help but admire those pupils who take on, and achieve, a much higher number of GCSEs. For example, Sam Alder, Wardeh
Mohsin, Niall Palmer and Laura
Vallely all achieved 15 GCSEs at
Grade C or better. Incredible!
Then seventy-five of our pupils
achieved 10 or more GCSEs at Grade C or better, which really does highlight the improvements that we have made in the past few years.
For many pupils, their hard work and commitment resulted in some very high grades. Forty-one pupils achieved at least one A or A* grade, with one hundred and four As or A*s
in total between them. Particular
congratulations must go to Billy
Haslam (5A*s, 5As and 3Bs), Sam
Hayman (3A*s, 3As 5Bs and 1C),
Christie Hutchby (6As and 7 Bs) and Lucy Anns (6As and 6Bs).
But Wentworth High School is not
just about pupils achieving high grades. We want every pupil to achieve the best that is possible for them and there have been some pupils who have done particularly well in this respect and deserve a
special mention.
