Latest News from Maths

We are pleased to be able to welcome Mrs McLaughlin to the Faculty. She has already shown that she will be an asset to the team. We have also been able to appoint a further specialist, Mr McGinty who has taught in Salford for many years and he arrives for the summer term. I am therefore very confident that we can continue to make progress and help to make the Maths Faculty a thriving area, where children work hard and want to succeed.

The departure of Mrs Leese was a sad loss for the school and I would like to take this opportunity of thanking her publicly for the help and guidance she gave during her time at Wentworth. We all wish her a happy and successful retirement.

As the public examinations approach, hard work and commitment will be needed from all of the students involved. We will be running after-school Booster classes for year 9 students as well as GCSE revision sessions after school and during the Easter break for any year 11 students who are able to attend.

Finally, I would also like to thank our link governor, Mrs Vallely, for her support and involvement in recent months. It is vital that the governing body and the parents see what we are trying to achieve.

Mr J Bate
Head of Faculty
