As we rapidly approach the end of two year’s very hard work, all year 11 examination candidates have been putting the finishing touches to their examination folders. With a very large entry this year, the department seems covered in art work in a vast variety of mediums, and of an equally large range of shapes and sizes, both two dimensional and three dimensional.
Mr Gordon, Ms Stockdale and Mr Simm have been extremely busy viewing every piece of the nearly 2000 pieces of artwork. Well done and good luck all candidates of the Art Examination!
Once all the marking is finished, the annual Art Exhibition will start to take shape. Even if we say so ourselves this is always worth a visit.  Just ask any of the previous year’s visitors.
Last year was a record year for both work displayed and visitors viewing. Let's see if we can top it this year. The exhibition opening will be on Wednesday 21st June starting at 6.00pm. Please make a date in your diary. You will be more than welcome to spend a pleasant evening looking at some of the best art work in the city, with suitable refreshments in convivial surroundings. If you are thinking of taking Art & Design as an option in the future, it is an ideal and unique opportunity to see what you will be doing. This evening is also the new intake parents’ evening for year 6, but parents of all pupils are most cordially invited.
