News from the Governors.

Over the latest cycle of parent’s evenings, school governors have been asking parents to complete a questionnaire regarding their views of the school. This exercise has proved to be very valuable and the governors would like to thank all parents who completed questionnaires.

The outcomes of the questionnaires were very favourable for the school, with at least 96% of parents rating the standard of education offered by the school as being satisfactory or better and two-thirds of parents rating the education as good or excellent. Consistently, over 80% of parents in all years were satisfied or very satisfied with the progress that their child was making at the school. While these figures leave room for setting targets for improvement, they generally represent a positive endorsement of the schools performance.

In terms of communication, at least three quarters of parents in each year felt the school communicated adequately or better with parents and two thirds of parents felt that the school took parents views into account.

The governors and staff of the school welcome the views of parents at all times and would also like to extend the participation of parents in the life of the school. If as a parent, you feel that you have any issue that you wish to raise, do contact the school or one of the governors. Also, if you would like to offer your services in any way or would be interested in becoming a school governor, give the school a ring or contact an existing school governor.

Thank you again for your help in completing the questionnaires.

Steve Clapham

School Governor.
