Music Department
The Expressive Arts faculty comprises of Art and Design, Music and Drama. Pupils are taught once per week at key stage 3. At key stage 4 pupils can choose any of these three courses as an optional GCSE which is then taught three times a week.
Additionally, after school and dinnertime clubs run to offer pupils additional time in these subjects. Pupils achievements are celebrated with exhibitions, performances and productions which take place throughout the year.
One large space, roughly 12 metres x 12 metres; it is equipped with desks and keyboards and a removable sound system. Additionally there is several practice rooms complete with instruments. Paratactic teachers also use these practice rooms.
One full time teacher of music – the main teaching focus being key stage 3 music.
At key stage three years 7,8 and 9 are taught music once per week (50 minute lesson).
Music at key stage four is optional and is taken three times a week in years 10 and 11. |
