GCSE Results 2011

What can I say – this year pupils at Wentworth High School achieved their best GCSE results ever. 81% of pupils achieved 5 good GCSEs (A*-C) and 47% included English and Maths. Last year 41 pupils achieved A*/A grades, this year that number increased to 53 with one of those pupils achieving 11 A* or A grades. That means that just over one third of our Year 11s achieved at least one grade A or A* - a fantastic achievement for those pupils .

As always, our focus in on enabling every pupil to achieve the best that they can and, as always, there are some pupils that stand out from the rest in terms of the difficulties they have overcome. Several pupils have made excellent progress, coming to Wentworth with little or no English and achieving as many as 12 GCSEs at A*-C grades.

As a school, we are more than happy to be able to say each year that these are our best results ever, but our current Year 11 now have even more to live up to and we are looking forward to working with them to help them achieve the best possible results they can.

Finally, we wish each and every one of our Class of 2011 a happy and successful future, they have given themselves a very promising start!
