Uniform
The uniform is an essential part of our School's identity. All pupils, without exception, are required to wear the uniform and choosing Wentworth High School is an acknowledgement by parents of this requirement. If an item is not listed, it is not part of the uniform.
From time to time, individual pupils and their parents may have a temporary difficulty in providing a particular item. All special requests are treated sensitively by the Form Tutors and where appropriate, a permit card will be issued for a few days. Training shoes, or high fashion alternatives, are not permitted under any circumstances.
Other Items
Training Shoes - Must not be worn on the School premises other than during PE lessons.
Coats - Outdoor coats are to be removed on entry into the school buildings. The School strongly recommends that outdoor clothing should be the cheapest suitable for its intended purposes.
Jewellery - Only one plain stud in the lobe of each ear. These items must be discreet and as small as possible. Items of jewellery, other than a watch, are not allowed. All other forms of body piercing are not allowed and must be removed.
Hair Accessories - A small, hair ribbon or hair slide may be worn, but must be in one of the School colours, e.g. white, grey, maroon or black. Braided hair with swinging beads is a danger to eyes and must be tied back.
Hair - Pupils with shaved, or partly shaved, heads, haircuts that include razored patterns or designs, or bright hair dye may be sent home at the discretion of the Headteacher. Pupils with long hair may be required to tie it back for certain activities, e.g. PE, Technology.
Make-up - Including nail varnish – is not allowed in school.
